Coronavirus and Repair Cafés
Despite the health crisis, Repair Cafés are adapting to continue repairing together, even during lockdown!
What if we used the lockdown to try to repair our broken items ourselves?
Due to the latest measures, the Repair Cafés are forced to temporarily close their doors. Only the bicycle workshops (→ see our directory) are currently authorised to carry on their repair services.
It is obvious that some repairs require a minimum of technical knowledge. But with a few good tips and tools, others are within everyone's reach! Ready to take the leap?
Repair Connects : repair together, online, with the network's repairers
Following the success of the platform set up during the first lockdown, we are relaunching the initiative with Repair Connects.
Within the framework of the Sharepair project, Maakbaar Leuven has developed a new online remote support platform with the help of Statik. Repair Together and other partners then contributed to the development of this platform. It is now ready to welcome you and we invite you to join us!
Thank you for this very nice initiative during this period! It allowed me to get in touch with one of your (very very efficient) repairers who succeeded in repairing a no-frost freezer which has now been resuscitated! And as a bonus, I received some important information you don't get in electrical household appliance shops...
Tutorials: step-by-step repairs
How to use a multimeter? How to change the battery of your laptop? How to oil a seized sewing machine? The internet is filled with repair tutorials!
In the Resources section of the website, we have compiled a number of tutorials created by repairers of our network, as well as a number of tutorials and diagrams provided by various specialised sites.
Want to contribute?
Are you a repairer and would you like to offer your help on the platform? Have you recently used or produced a tutorial to share with the community?
