Our missions
Repair Together aims to pool the resources needed to create, develop and maintain Repair Cafés in Brussels and Wallonia, and to promote repair to the general public!
Repair Together was created out of a desire to develop Repair Cafés in Brussels and Wallonia by increasing the number of locations and events, while ensuring their well-being and sustainability.
In its 10 years of existence, the network has now exceeded 200 Repair Cafés! Over time, Repair Together has naturally diversified its activities.
Repair Together supports the creation of new Repair Cafés and also ensures the maintenance of the network and the feeling of being part of a ‘Repair’ community.
The non-profit organisation is mandated by the official Repair Café Foundation and operates on a horizontal, non-hierarchical principle: each Repair Café remains autonomous.
Repair Together organises repair training courses designed to spread knowledge throughout the network and increase the expertise of volunteer repairers.
The association also organises learning acitivities around repair and related themes. These activities are aimed at schools and the general public. They can take place as part of events or on request.
Repair Together is part of a wider movement towards a more circular economy and the fight against programmed obsolescence.
We are mobilising our strengths and resources, in collaboration with other players in the sector, in a movement campaigning for a globally recognised ‘right to repair’.
Repair Together wants to see repair become a habit, for greater sustainability and circularity! We offer training and educational activities, and collaborate with numerous partners on projects to create links and raise awareness among a wide range of people.
→ The Repair Café Mobile brings the Repair Café concept on the road throughout Wallonia and Brussels!
→ The Repair Lab, halfway between Fab Lab and Repair Café, gives people who want to repair things themselves access to the tools and knowledge they need! Come and repair your items yourself, with the help of a Repair Manager and the right tools!
→ Repair Together supports Brussels high schools to help them launch a Repair Café within their school! This offer is supported by Bruxelles Environnement.
